People are not taking Einstein seriously
Sunday, April 27th, 2008He said, “Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them”
Yesterday I attended a certain policy forum by a particular charitable self-help organisation that is (in)famous amongst my local community.
In the 3 hours or so of talks and discussions, I felt a familiar sense of boredom and helplessness.
Boredom because I honestly felt it was scarcely productive or helpful.
Helpless because the conversations were dominated by people with vested interests and who did not consider the problem at hand sincerely or seriously.
The problem / topic / challenge being discussed was employment and employability in the “new economy”; as well as the trends that should be of concern to my community.
Truthfully, there is nothing “new” about the “new economy”. It’s still Capitalism or Kapitalocratic Fascism - with all its flaws and fragilities - bloated to globalised proportions with a fancy new label slapped on it.
The issues being addressed were still addressed in the old frame or context of the Kapitalocratic Slavery System - i.e. to heck with human or environmental concerns, profit is god (or human and environmental concerns can be hypocritically made to seem to matter as long as these do not get in the way of the godhood of profits).
Maybe it was just the sampling.
Maybe Money Need Not Be Destroyed
Thursday, January 3rd, 2008If you’ve been keeping up with my blog, you’ll know that I’m the guy who called for the eradication of the monetary economy and the establishment of a resource based economy.
Well, I started to realise, maybe money need not be completely destroyed.
A simple change is all that is needed.
Maybe the material economy can be done away with once we solve the resource scarcity problem through technology or some other advanced form of resource rationing.
All physical resources that are needed for the functioning of civilisation can be made available for free without charge.
What can still be charged is service rendered by humans.
So in a sense my vision is this - a resource-, service- and knowledge-based economy.
One of the most lucrative vocations in my RSK economy would be teaching.
In the RSK economy, the age old maxim that “knowledge is true wealth” will be even more apparent.
Everything is available in abundance and for free. All you need to create whatever it is you want in your life is the know-how or just the right person to do it for you. And to get the know-how, you have to learn either from Wiki-educational systems or the old-fashioned way from teachers (human, not robots or A.I.).
If you learn from teachers, you have to work out a barter trade of knowledge with them (you teach them something they don’t know, they teach you something you don’t know), or pay them money, which can then be used by the teachers to get others to do some service to them which they need.
To be totally free of money, one needs to learn as much as possible and do everything on one’s own. But it escapes my imagination how one can do so in complete independence of other humans helping in some way.
The new paradigm of the new Robert Kiyosaki’s of my RSK economy would be, “the more people you help, serve or give value to, the wealthier you will become”. This is already true in the present status quo economy, but there are over 1 billion people who can’t even afford the basic necessities to be of service to anyone who can give them that wealth.
Of course I am worth way more than $1 MMM.
Monday, December 10th, 2007$1 MMM does not equate to One Million Million Million dollars. It’s One Billion. M stands for 1,000 in Roman numerals. Do the Math.
Actually, I don’t think there is even a proper Roman numeral for 1 Billion. Anyway…
From a fish, I have transmuted my desktop wallpaper into a billion dollar cheque which I predestine to come to me (from myself, no less) on my 25th birthday.
Since I am the one who both signed and received the cheque, it means I have way more than $1,111,111,000.00 in my checking accounts.
Who knows?
Abundance as the new economic paradigm
Monday, November 19th, 2007Abundance is the underlying nature of all existence.
Scarcity and lack are relative, subjective manifestations of the absolute truth of abundance.
The universe is such that when scarcity is perceived in one region of space, it is usually because that which is perceived to be lacking is actually somewhere else, or is in a different form, or its parts are dismantled and scattered elsewhere in space.
The present economic and ecological models are rooted in the discrete concept - either there is or there isn’t. Once something is not there, it won’t reappear unless something else similar or identical replaces it.
Although it is scientifically acceptable to hold that (almost) everything on Earth is recyclable, reusable or reconstructible; given enough time, energy and the right processes, this notion does not enter into the domain of economics which deals chiefly and essentially with scarcity.
In fact, the entirety of economics is built upon the foundation of scarcity - there are limits to the quantities of wealth (resources, gold, currencies, fuel, capital, etc) - hence, civilisation must employ money as a symbolic representation of the exchange of one value or one resource for another, and also the value of money as a means to ration the consumption of resources.
Despite profound accelerations in technological progress, more attention is being paid, more money is being spent and hence more energy is being given to sustain the models of the old paradigm of lack and scarcity, thus, creating a perpetual loop that consumes resources at a non-decelerating rate. Even the ideas and proposals for solutions that purportedly seek to end or minimise poverty and its effects do not suffice to attack it at its source and tackles only the symptoms of the problem and not the problem itself.
Problems cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them - Einstein.
Official bodies, committees of men (and minimal amounts of women), summits, paper discussions and agreements - all these represent the old level of thinking that - might not have been responsible for the problem but - had been proven, time and time again, to be ineffective in solving it.
Sometimes, if not most of the time, solutions to long-standing problems present themselves in totally unexpected ways, and they come either as a sudden thing or gradually over time.
Death of the WTO - I wish
Saturday, November 10th, 2007I had just seen The Yes Men, a hilarious reality movie that follows some anti-corporate, anti-globalisation activists on their elaborate pranks impersonating (fictional) members of the World Trade Organization with weird names.
It was outrageously entertaining to see such bold people going around doing things that could have gotten them into trouble in the name of poking fun at the hypocrisy and aloofness of international ‘official’ bodies whose sole concern is profit and maximum business and not the human element.
The climax of the movie was their (fake) announcement of the closure of the WTO at a CPA Australia conference which they actually successfully arranged.
I just wish these guys had come down to Singapore in 2006 when the World Bank / IMF meetings were held here (or did they? I don’t know, I was busy ’serving the nation’ and protecting the delegates from possible ‘terrorist’ attacks). Talking about that, I remembered the PR campaign that was launched in Singapore during the meetings using posters with faces of third world children and the slogan, “Imagine a World Without Poverty”. I wanted to puke.
I suppose Singapore can do its part in the global battle against poverty by allowing gambling and vice industries to take root in this tiny island state. Perhaps we can hire kids from Somalia and people from Darfur - or maybe we don’t have to go very far, our neighbour Indonesia would suffice, dress them up in nice bow-tied suits and let them handle the various games in the casinos.

A Continual Re-Evaluation & Evolution of My Life Mission
Saturday, November 10th, 2007My mission in life, to put it bluntly, is to destroy money. Specifically, fake money. Paper money. Electronic money. Those pesky little things that are intrinsically worthless but to humans symbolise some form of value hence their changing of hands represents exchange of one value for another. That is a very flawed model from the beginning but due to practical limitations in the first place it was accepted at its most primitive stages as a norm, and it continued to evolve without addressing the fundamental quality and essential principle it was supposed to serve in the first place - the development of human life and civilisation.
Money is the lifeblood of human civilisation, makes the world go round (or so they say) and bestows status upon people who have more of it (or more concentrated quantities of it) and defines the structure of social hierarchy.
But money is still fake.
This is its biggest problem. This problem has plagued humanity for millennia. But things are changing. Money was invented from a paradigm of lack. But the true nature of the universe is not that of lack but of abundance. What is lacking is simply the knowledge (specifically human knowledge) to mine the vast resources of the universe that will serve to improve the quality of human life and hence civilisation as a whole.
And even in the arena of knowledge - both theoretical and (technological) practical - revolutions and evolutions are the constant norm - whether or not we choose to pay attention to them while we’re distracted by fake money.
I am going to make many enemies, confuse entire populations and perhaps some might misinterpret what I truly intend to convey and create fanatical death cults. I might even be branded Marx 2.0 but I assure you I am the anti-thesis of Marx - no, correction, anti-thesis is not enough of a descriptive word - I am way beyond that. If my ideas take root, it will be way beyond whatever economic, philosophical or political systems humankind has conceived. In that manner, my world-view, my vision is transcendent.
I am excited by the technological developments of the so-called transhumanist movement but I am against meddling with our human nature too much to the point that we lose our humanity (and philosophers will want to debate with me what is meant by humanity).
I am optimistic that the developments of nano- / pico- / femto- technology will open new vistas of human capabilities and elevate us to new levels of our quest for the ultimate mastery over matter and energy. But I am against the repetition of tragic portions of history where only the elite few whose interests wantonly override those of the many have totalitarian control of its power and wield it to enslave rather than empower and liberate.
In some aspects, I am an anarchist. In others, I am a totalitarian. This seemingly confused amalgamation of qualities emergently manifests its coherence when you elevate your perception of what I am trying to do and see that ultimately what I am interested in is what most humanists, activists, freedom fighters, democratists, (some) religionists and other intentionally benign groups want to see as well - the elevation and liberation of all humankind from all shackles (either self- or externally-imposed).
Yet I temper this notion with the realisation that humans are intrinsically limited beings but our growth potential is virtually unlimited. I am not against our limited nature. I am against impediments, blocks and cages that limit our growth. Growth is good. Our natural limits are good. But growth should be done in the most benign manner possible and not at the expense of others (and by others I mean both other humans and other forms of life - even non-life; i.e. the intricate ‘balances’ of nature so to speak).
The previous 2 paragraphs sum up the motivation behind my motivation - the why beneath the why - of my intention to dethrone money and replace it with a more just value-exchange system that intrinsically makes poverty, lack, limitation (and all that it causes - i.e. war, slavery, tyranny, greed, elitism, fascism, etc) rationally impossible.
My vision is this - ultimately, I want all that is needed - the basic necessities - for human beings to lead decent, dignified lives (healthy air, food and water, shelter, clothing, education, love and comfort, etc) to be as freely available as the very air we breathe. When the basics are taken care of, we can move on to the more advanced levels of development and exploration.
Currently only a small percentage of the human population can afford (even then that affordability is questionable) to be the forerunners of progress and scientific (philosophical, aesthetic) exploration; and the efforts of these few, while appreciable, build the paradigms and drive the movements of the many who are less than privileged or are tied to the wage slavery system.
What I want is for the basic needs to be taken care of, then with a focused educational system that addresses the growth needs of a human being holistically, the vast majorities are given free rein (within clearly defined moral and ethical boundaries) to explore the various fields that are their individual passions (or muses) in life.
Knowledge sharing is the new currency of the future, but in a way that has lesser limitations than the monetary currency that runs our lives currently.
Yet despite all that is written here, I must assert that my idea not be a new dogma or doctrine; i.e. some rigid ideological system. It must not be. It needs to be fluid and receptive to realities. Perhaps the only thing that I want my idea to be dogmatic about is the concept that whatever we are doing is in the ultimate interests of the allowance for the fullness of human life.

Where to go from here?
Saturday, November 10th, 2007What is the difference between a person who asks, “Where to go from here?” and expects the answer to come to him and a person who asks the same and expects the answer from herself?
Ultimate freedom brings with it a huge burden of personal responsibility. One can easily get lost without a proper sense of direction. Even then, with a compelling vision of epic grandeur, there are those demonic details to deal with in day to day affairs that seem to hinder any kind of progress towards the realisation of that vision.
I feel I had started what I have started on a false start. But then I thought everyone has to start somewhere. My start had not been the most by-the-book but it was a decent start anyway. I am blessed with a brilliant mind but cursed with procrastination, perfectionism and unconscious progress-hindering deliberation. But I am slowly working on that. Maybe too slowly.
If I can, I will hire people to handle the devilish details of my ideas for me while I generate newer, greater and more revolutionary ideas at the speed of light. But I am not the inheritor of some vast fortune. Apparently, providence sees fit to bestow absurd wealth upon the affluent hedonistic who squander it away while brilliant minds are tortured by their hungry stomachs and potential messiahs amongst third world countries die malnourished. She knows naught about the important historical details of her own homeland let alone the plights and realities of her fellow citizens yet the people of her country go crazy over her antics and throw their hard-earned cash (and lives away) to enrich her. A seeker who has found the simple answer in nature that will end human dependence on fossil fuels and hence the wars that are fought for control of its sources go uncredited, intimidated, eventually murdered by clandestine entities whose sole purpose is profit at all cost - even human lives. This is the way of the world.
But I am not complaining. I am speaking the truth. Do you question it? If no one in the world speaks the truth, how can we ever progress? Yet there are those who abuse their truth-speaking abilities by not acting upon the truths they speak of.
But all this is small. Insignificant. None of this matters. At all. Cosmic rays bombard the planets indiscriminately. The sun burns saint, sinner, hedonist, altruist, tyrant, freedom fighter and the dead alike. Or does it? Nature may be indiscriminate but the tools and technologies of Man seem to serve only the few who have gained leverage over them at the expense of or in oblivion to the dispensable many.
Where is the man who never ceases to ask the important questions? Who seeks the very secrets of the soul and the universe that it perceives? Who champions freedom from all forms of tyranny - tangible or otherwise? Who reforms corrupted characters towards righteousness? Who expects nothing more from life than the love and decent company of family and children? Where is he?
Consumed by consumerism. Swallowed by unnecessary obligations. Ripped apart by bondage to the rice bowl. Fishing to feed his family. Broken by the whips and strangled by the chains of the few.
The oldest tyrant in history still stands. The Pharaoh of Pharaohs. The Enlightened Eye Upon The Pyramid.
On Poverty.

The Most Important Movie You Will Ever See In Your Life
Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007If you have any iota of concern for your freedom…
If you have any inkling of concern for your well-being as a human being…
If you want all the madness that is happening to and in the world to stop once and for all and be actively and consciously involved in the shaping of a new, brighter future for humanity and your children…
Then your first step to participate in what is probably the greatest revolution in the history of humankind (which is a revolution for nothing less than the absolute highest ideal of humanity - FREEDOM) is to watch this online documentary feature -
- I firmly believe the only rational way forward for our species (and for all life on this planet) is to break away from the destructive cycle of violence, paranoia, hatred, fear, deceit, addictions, conceit and the desire for dominance at the expense of others that has been going on and on since 10,000 BC (the earliest historically documented starting point of human civilisation) in multiple variations and near-infinite iterations (wars, colonialisation, imperialisation, racism, nationalism, religious zealotry, patriotic zealotry, class divisions, etc).
The first step is to find out, understand and know the Truth. As the Bible says, The Truth shall set you free. In essence, Truth and Freedom are intertwined. Truth is the elixir and Freedom is the end result.
As the Quran says, Truth has arisen and falsehood has vanished. Indeed, falsehood is ever vanishing.
How To Be Free & Join In The Revolution For Nothing Less Than The Liberation Of Humanity In 3 Simple Steps.
Step 1. Set aside 2 hours of free time.
Step 2. Watch every minute of the movie featured on the above-mentioned website.
Step 3. Spread the word. Join in the conversation. Participate in the Zeitgeist (Spirit of the Times). Blog about it. Social bookmark it. Assemble friends & family and hold discussions about it. Find ways and means to integrate the messages of the Zeitgeist into your personal and professional lives. Stop being so cynical. Stop being so paranoid. Learn to trust. Start trying to understand others. Volunteer in worthy causes. Vote right. Impeach Bush. Okay, the last one is optional.
