People are not taking Einstein seriously
He said, “Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them”
Yesterday I attended a certain policy forum by a particular charitable self-help organisation that is (in)famous amongst my local community.
In the 3 hours or so of talks and discussions, I felt a familiar sense of boredom and helplessness.
Boredom because I honestly felt it was scarcely productive or helpful.
Helpless because the conversations were dominated by people with vested interests and who did not consider the problem at hand sincerely or seriously.
The problem / topic / challenge being discussed was employment and employability in the “new economy”; as well as the trends that should be of concern to my community.
Truthfully, there is nothing “new” about the “new economy”. It’s still Capitalism or Kapitalocratic Fascism - with all its flaws and fragilities - bloated to globalised proportions with a fancy new label slapped on it.
The issues being addressed were still addressed in the old frame or context of the Kapitalocratic Slavery System - i.e. to heck with human or environmental concerns, profit is god (or human and environmental concerns can be hypocritically made to seem to matter as long as these do not get in the way of the godhood of profits).
Maybe it was just the sampling.
